Can’t seem to get that flawless finish with your full coverage foundation? Our resident makeup artist, Vanessa shares her latest technique to guarantee the exact look you’re after…
STEP ONE
Prep the skin with moisturiser and primer. It’s so important to have a good base for your foundation to adhere to. I often use Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré Moisturiser (shop here), and BECCA Backlight Priming Filter (shop here). Use a really dense foundation brush like Sigma Beauty F80- Flat Kabuki (shop here), blending the products into the skin in a circular motion. Make sure you cover your whole face evenly.
STEP TWO
With a slight damp blending sponge, lightly press the foundation into the skin – don’t use too much pressure, as we don’t want the foundation to lift. I use ModelCo Magic Blender Sponge (shop here), and for a full coverage look, I’d suggest a foundation like Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Makeup (shop here), or BECCA Ultimate Coverage Complexion Crème Foundation (shop here).
STEP THREE
Using a large powder brush like Sigma F20 (shop here), apply translucent powder to the T-Zone using a ‘roll and press’ motion. I am currently using Kryolan Translucent Powder (shop here). With a small fluffy brush like Sigma E40 – Tapered Blending (shop here), apply the powder under the eyes.
STEP FOUR
This is the key step! With your damp blending sponge, use gentle dabbing motions to lightly press into the areas you’ve just placed your translucent powder. Then give your skin a generous spritz with Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray (shop here) to hold your foundation in place all day!
