Authority to Leave (ATL) means the delivery driver has permission to leave your parcel at your delivery address without obtaining a signature.
We apply Authority to Leave on all parcels by default, where it is safe to do so.
How does Authority to Leave work?
If no one is available to receive your delivery, the driver may leave your parcel in a safe location at your address.
This is determined by the delivery driver at the time of delivery.
Where will my parcel be left?
Drivers will use their discretion to choose a safe and weather-protected location that is not easily visible from the street.
This may include:
- Front door or porch
- Behind bins or side access areas
- Mailroom or reception (if applicable and accessible)
- Secure building entry areas
The exact location will depend on what the driver considers safe at the time of delivery.
Proof of delivery
In many cases, your tracking information may also include a proof of delivery update, which can show an image of where your parcel was left.
This is provided by the delivery carrier and is only available where supported.
You can view this by checking your tracking link once your order has been delivered.
What if my delivery location isn’t suitable?
If the driver does not believe there is a safe place to leave your parcel they will redirect your parcel to a nearby depot or collection point.
