We deliver to apartments, secure buildings, and addresses with mailrooms, reception desks, or concierge services.
However, delivery depends on the carrier being able to safely access the delivery location.
How delivery works in secure buildings
When delivering to apartments or secure buildings, the delivery driver will:
- Attempt to access the building or delivery point
- Look for a safe and secure location to leave your parcel
- Deliver to a mailroom, reception, concierge, or lobby where access is available and it is considered safe
Where possible, drivers will always aim to complete delivery directly to your address or an appropriate secure internal location.
Driver discretion and safe delivery
Delivery placement is ultimately determined by the driver at the time of delivery.
This means that:
- A mailroom or lobby may be used if it is accessible and considered secure
- In some cases, the driver may choose not to leave a parcel in a communal area if it is not deemed safe
- Secure building access restrictions may impact whether a parcel can be left inside the building
Drivers will always prioritise safe delivery of your parcel.
If access is restricted
If the driver is unable to safely access your building or delivery point, they may:
- Attempt to contact you (in some cases, depending on the carrier)
- Leave a delivery notification card
- Redirect your parcel to a nearby post office, depot, or Collection Point
Important information
- Authority to Leave applies to all deliveries where it is safe to do so
- Mailrooms, lobbies, and reception areas are not guaranteed delivery points
- Delivery success depends on safe and reasonable access for the driver
- Delivery placement is always at the driver’s discretion
